A vital part of the community since 2008, DownStreet Art helps to promote community access to and participation in the arts. Offering monthly community celebrations of arts and culture during the summertime as well as a full calendar of arts-based events year-round, DownStreet Art helps to give life to the city of North Adams by drawing in both the local community and visitors from away.

The idea of an extinct species is a chilling one, and the case of the passenger pigeon is one of rapidly declining numbers actually bottoming out at zero; an incredible blow to the planet’s natural life. MASS MoCA does its best to bring the passenger pigeon back to life in its wonderful space via a stunning new video installation. This exhibit is something for the whole family to experience, as it brings pause and reflection to the idea of existence and offers important educational themes to explore.

MASS MoCA’s “It’s Only Human” Kidspace exhibit and activity program is a fantastic achievement that stimulates all kind of curiosity, inviting discussion on topics such as body image and the complexities of anatomy, health, and wellness. Two artists offer differing perspectives of the human body through captivating lenses. This exhibit is for the whole family! Don’t miss the opening reception for on Saturday, June 14. Bring the kids and take a look at the works on display, have an open-ended family discussion about the exhibition (Not sure how to start? Try using questions we’ve provided!).
