Lenox, MA. ♦ At Berkshire Nature Camp, campers ages 3-17 have fun and make friends as they discover nature! Trail explorations, wildlife observations, outdoor play, hands-on activities, games, and crafts keep campers engaged throughout the summer. Camp occurs at Pleasant Valley, Mass Audubon’s 1,400-acre wildlife sanctuary with diverse forests, meadows, mountains, brooks, and beaver ponds. For over 70 years, Berkshire Nature Camp at Pleasant Valley has inspired children’s love for the unique nature of western Massachusetts. Campers learn by playing, exploring, and having free choices and guided activities in a safe space with caring instructors.

Riotous Youth
Lenox, MA. ♦ Riotous Youth, Shakespeare & Company’s summer youth theater program, is designed to introduce young actors to the language, stories, characters, and ideas in Shakespeare’s plays in imaginative and playful ways. Classes incorporating voice, movement, and acting enable students to explore Shakespeare’s text emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Students create a performance piece based on their experience of the play, which they will share with family, friends, and Company members on the final day of the session. The 2023 Riotous Youth program will hold sessions from July 3 through August 18.

Summer Sessions
Holyoke, MA ♦ The Massachusetts Academy of Ballet welcomes dancers of all ages and levels to enroll in its summer sessions. Emphasis is on the exploration and study of technique and terminology, concentrating on ballet as a means of expression and storytelling through musicality, creativity, and choreography. Workshops include Ballet Imagination (ages 5-7; July 17-21), Beginning Ballet (ages 8-10; July 24-28), Intermediate Ballet (ages 11-14; July 31-Aug 4), and Advanced Ballet (ages 14-19; Aug 7-11). Intermediate and Advanced Ballet classes are also available in-studio from June 20-August 19 for teens and adults. The Academy studios are located at the Open Square building, and feature state-of-the-art sprung floors, a dressing room, and a reception area.

Springfield, MA ♦ The Children’s Chorus of Springfield (CCS) Summer Sing at the Community Music School of Springfield (CMSS) will be a “triple treat!” Taking place July 10-21 (M-F only) from 10am-1pm, students will sing, move and collaborate on an art mural project for the two weeks of the program. The program will culminate with a performance at the “Jazz and Roots Festival” on July 21 and a colorful, student-art-inspired mural on permanent display at CMSS. Students will literally be able to leave their mark on CMSS this summer! Faculty includes CMSS Children’s Chorus Director, Laurie Ellington. Financial Aid/Scholarship is available.

Dan Kane Singing Program at The Majestic Theater
West Springfield ♦ The Majestic Theater at 131 Elm St in West Springfield is the home of the Dan Kane Summer Singing Enrichment Camp! The theater is gorgeous! It’s a professional theater with a vast audience base, giving students a chance to perform in a professional venue on a professional stage. There will be one Monday-Friday session for the week of Aug 21-26, with 50 openings for children who love to sing. The week will culminate with two concerts, showcasing the talented students & what they learned! Openings are limited as it is always a sell-out, so call the theater as early as possible for details. The cost is $325/student, due with submission of application which prospective families can get from the theater.

Journey Camp
Deerfield, MA ♦ Girls Week Friendship Camp happens June 26-30 from 9am-4pm for campers ages 6-10 at Woolman Hill. (Cost: $325-380, sliding scale.) Girls Week Friendship Camp is a week of shared fun, kindness, and supportive new friendships among all ages. Campers will build stick houses on the Pocumtuck Ridge, play games, sing, hear stories, and learn how to talk things out, ensuring everyone feels included in an environment of belonging and social safety.
