Heron’s Nest is mixed-age home preschool, and a bright space full of songs, plants, creatures, and liberated play. Time outside teaches the arts of loving interdependence, devotion to meaningful work, and admiration of our natural world. Farm animal care, gardening, music making, storytelling, creative arts, and homestead crafts are integral pillars of this program. The days are a flexible combination of structure and free play, as a child-led curriculum fosters willful learning and genuine curiosity. It is home to a herd of dwarf goats, a flock of ducks, and expansive gardens for work and play.
