Public YoYo School at A2Z Science
A yo-yo spins out from the hand, tracing arcs that reveal the physics behind its movement. At A2Z Science and Learning Store in Northampton, weekly Yo-Yo School brings together participants of all ages to practice tricks, share techniques, and observe how timing and coordination shape motion. Champions and judges lead the sessions, offering insight into how gravity, string tension, and axis alignment influence each trick. Holding a yo-yo stores potential energy; letting it fall sets motion in play. Each spin becomes a way to observe kinetic energy in action, making physics visible through practice and play. – Ages 7 to adult
