Whisked Away: Broom-Making Workshop

Learn the traditional craft of broom tying in this hands-on workshop. Participants will work with natural broomcorn and twine while gaining insight into the history of broom making, a domestic skill once common in rural New England. Brooms were not only household tools but also symbols of resourcefulness, often crafted in winter months when farm work slowed. This workshop highlights the process of shaping, binding, and finishing a broom while connecting today’s learners to a practice that reflects both utility and cultural heritage. – Registration required.
