All Ages Summer Watercolors
Join in a relaxed space to experiment with color and imagination using watercolor paint. Participants can follow simple prompts or explore freely, using brushes, water, and pigment to create their own paintings. Watercolor has long been used for field notes, illustrations, and personal expression. This open-format session supports art studies through hands-on experience, encouraging curiosity and creative exploration in a shared community setting. Supplies are provided.
Self-Directed Learning
This step-by-step video teaches how to paint ten types of watercolor leaves while introducing color mixing and brush techniques. Follow along to layer shapes and mix greens using yellow, blue, red, and orange, while observing the qualities of real leaves—pointed, round, jagged, or smooth. Paired with the All Ages Summer Watercolors event, this video supports self-directed learning in both art and plant studies through close observation. Practicing leaf painting outdoors encourages mindfulness and builds skills in nature journaling, offering a focused, creative way to connect with the natural world.
