Mystical Arts of Tibet
Monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery gather to create a sand mandala, carefully layering colored grains into detailed patterns over about an hour. The process is quiet and thoughtful, with each movement showing traditions of impermanence and care. Nearby, thangka paintings, prayer wheels, and prayer flags show how art and spiritual practice come together in Tibetan culture. Participants get a chance to design their own mandalas and take a moment for mindfulness, noticing how these traditions are shaped by the land and beliefs. This experience brings together art, history, and reflection, encouraging people to see how culture becomes visible through practice. Takes place Monday, April 6–Friday, April 10, 2026
