Make Your Own Board Game: 4-Week Series
Thinking through how a game works builds skills in planning, sequencing, and creative problem-solving. In this hands-on series, participants ages 8+ will design and build their own board games from the ground up. Along the way, they’ll explore how game mechanics, rules, and goals shape player experience—for example, how a time limit can create tension or how cooperative play changes how players interact. Each week offers time for testing ideas, making adjustments, and asking questions like: What has to happen first? What makes the game work? And how do rules support play? Materials provided. Teens welcome. Registrants should plan to attend at least three sessions.
