Fly Fishing Clinic
Learn the art of fly fishing while honoring the legacy of Bill Rose, an advocate for watershed stewardship and outdoor education. Participants can watch fly-tying demonstrations, practice casting techniques, and gain ecological insights through hands-on insect ID with biologists. This free event invites curiosity about aquatic habitats, watershed ecology, and how mimicry in fly design mirrors insect behavior in local streams. A fly-fishing starter kit will be gifted to one young angler, supporting greater access to this nature-based practice. Rain or shine, with equipment available to borrow. – Takes place in the turnout on the Westfield River across from the Huntington Health Center. Children are welcome with the supervision of an adult at this family-friendly event.
