Springfield Museums Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s 122nd Birthday with All-Day Family Festival
“You’re off to great places! Today is your day!” Springfield Museums is marking the 122nd birthday of Springfield native Theodor Seuss Geisel with a full day of family fun. The festival encourages learning through play and creativity. Families can enjoy hands-on art projects, games, and storytelling inspired by Dr. Seuss’s books. Kids can meet the Cat in the Hat, make art, watch bubbles float, and join a playful passport activity that brings together movement, language, and visual thinking. The event takes place at the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum, the only museum dedicated to his life and work. This celebration shows how stories connected to a special place can help children learn to read, ask questions, and see the world in new ways.
