Tinker Thursday: Doctor for a Day
What does a doctor do all day? At Tinker Thursday: Doctor for a Day, children ages 7–14 step into the world of medicine through creative play and hands-on activities. Participants wear lab coats, use real stethoscopes, assemble a skeleton, read x-rays, and diagnose “patients.” Along the way, they learn about the circulatory system, practice taking a pulse, and explore how doctors observe and treat the human body. This playful introduction to anatomy and health care professions supports early interest in medicine, physiology, and the art of caring for others.
Self-Directed Learning
What can a stethoscope tell us about what’s happening inside the body?
What can bones and x-rays teach us about how our bodies are put together?
What clues do doctors look for when diagnosing an illness?
