Great Hall Exhibit: Day of the Dead Altar
At the Great Falls Discovery Center, families can view a Day of the Dead altar built by local families with support from the Heartwing Center. This exhibit is an opportunity to learn about cultural traditions of remembrance and discover how messages of love are used to honor and commemorate loved ones. Families can explore history and anthropology by tracing the holiday’s indigenous and Spanish roots, gain insight into art and symbolism through handcrafted decorations, and strengthen family bonds by reflecting on their own traditions of memory and storytelling. This exhibit also encourages cross-cultural understanding, inviting all ages to see how communities celebrate life through honoring the dead.
