FEATURED RESOURCE: DANDELIONS
DANDELION: Looking through the lens of the common dandelion, this week, we explore how wild edibles, naturalized species, and spring flowers can support self-directed and facilitated learning at home. The spring return of dandelion blossoms mark the season and inspires learning that supports interests, sparks curiosity, and connects us to the places we call home.
ACTIVITIES: Associated activities to encourage experiential learning through plant, place, and history include cooking, baking, brewing, mindful observations, journaling, sketching, photography, plant identification, data collection, plant dissection, and video viewing.
RESOURCES: And in addition to the dandelion, other community-based resources highlighted to support learning through the lens of naturalized plant species include native and ornamental plant species, untreated lawns, fields, and meadows, native animal species, grocery stores, brew supply shops, libraries, and book stores.
