Parents’ Night Out: Valentine’s Day Promotion
Love is in the air! But what does that mean? Valentine’s Day is a special opportunity for parents to support local culture and express kindness to each other by shopping at a local business, buying flowers from an artisan florist, take museum trips, volunteer your time for others, or relax amongst fellow adults while the sitter takes over for the evening. But it isn’t just about hearts and chocolates!
Featured here are three evening community events parents can engage in for a special Parents’ Night Out in celebration of Valentine’s Day, including a ticket giveaway for two pair of tickets to see a show at the Calvin Theater!
EVENING AT THE MUSEUM
Join Springfield Museums for Culture & Cocktails: Indulgence – An Evening of Wine and Chocolate on Thursday, February 2 from 5-8pm, and shake up the museum experience with an eclectic mix of culinary treats and cultural entertainment! Sample rose and sparkling wines and enjoy chocolate hors d’oeuvres as dancers from the Pioneer Valley Ballet interpret the artwork. Preview the upcoming special exhibition Jeweled Objects of Desire, featuring select items from the vaults of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and by artist and jeweler-to-the-stars Sidney Mobell. EVENING OUTDOORS
Snowshoes, Beer & Chocolate – Oh my! Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14 from 7-9pm at Notchview in Windsor, MA. A unique way to spend Valentine’s Day! Enjoy a night time self-guided snowshoe on Notchview’s beautiful woodland trails followed by a cozy evening in the warmth of the visitor center for tasting of beer and chocolate! There will be a chocolate fountain too! Members: $12; Nonmembers: $20. Registration preferred. Snowshoe rentals available on a first come, first served basis. Bring a headlamp!
