The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts & Hilltown Families present Family Volunteer Days! Each month, families are invited to attend a monthly volunteer session to help sort food, take part in educational activities, and learn how to take actions to help fight hunger. This is an opportunity for Hilltown Families participating families to volunteer together with their community, engaged in service-based learning while supporting an important local cause! Family Volunteer Days are held once a month and are open to everyone. Our next Family Volunteer Day takes place on Saturday, November 14 from 9-11am for Thanksgiving in Hatfield while supporting food security in the region! Get your kids skating & playing: Amherst Hockey Association‘s popular on-ice Learn to Skate and Learn to Play programs run Nov 21-March 12 for ages 4-8, with a new All-Girls Learn to Play team option. Learn to Skate is Saturdays from 1-2:20; Learn to Play is Saturdays 2:30-3:50 with mini-games on Sundays beginning in December. Girls’ House Team for ages 9-15 begins Nov 19 through mid-March with two practices per week plus additional, optional on- and off-ice events with their Girls’ Division. The focus is fun! Parents can watch their kids skate with confidence in the Mullins Community Rink at UMass, the warmest rink in Western Massachusetts.
