Please join The Hartsbrook School for their fall open house on Saturday, October 17th, 10am-12pm. Teachers and parents will show you the classrooms, present students’ work and answer your questions. The Montessori School of Northampton’s annual Children’s Fall Fair and Open House will be held on Saturday, October 17, from 11am-3pm. This family-friendly event features games and activities, arts and crafts, delicious food and, premiering this year, the #WeNeedDiverseBooks book fair! Admission is free; there is a small fee for activities. During the fair, the school will be open for families to meet staff, visit classrooms and learn about the current programs from toddler through 6th grade as well as the new middle school opening in September 2016. Family Fiesta Day happens October 17 from 10am-5pm at the Springfield Museums! Celebrate Hispanic culture with a full day of family shows, exhibits, drop-in art activities, and more! The OnTrend Fall Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, October 17 on the Hadley Town Commons on Route 9 in Hadley. The fair will showcase 60 of the region’s most talented indie crafters. Each month, families are invited to attend a monthly volunteer session to help sort food, take part in educational activities, and learn how to take actions to help fight hunger. This is an opportunity for Hilltown Families participating families to volunteer together with their community, engaged in service-based learning while supporting an important local cause! The Hitchcock Center and Naturalist Ted Watt invite you to a geology hike up Mount Holyoke in Skinner State Park. Meet at the entrance gate and the hike will entail walking the auto road part way and then taking the New England National Scenic Trail to the summit of the mountain. “Dig In: A Field-to-Table Festival” is Old Sturbridge Village’s harvest season celebration for the whole family. Celebrate fall and the harvest while learning about food and farming, seeing demonstrations, sampling foods, helping with the harvest, and more.
