Berkshire Botanical Garden’s 78th annual Harvest Festival

Berkshire Botanical Garden’s 78th annual Harvest Festival
Stockbridge, MA
Oct 6th-7th, 2012

There’s so  much for families at this year’s Harvest Festival. Kids can come leap and soar at the hay jump, get lost in the hay maze, and take a rollicking hayride. Get spooked at the Haunted house, try hula hooping, have their face painted, or take a turn in the bounce house. Come nuzzle with Misfit Farm’s kid-friendly animals, take a (western style) horseback ride, hunt for a treasure from the Pocket Lady, and be mystified by Johnny Mystic’s magic. Feeling creative? There will be a tent full of kid’s crafts.

Fall is finally in full swing!  Celebrate the season at the Berkshire Botanical Garden’s 78th annual Harvest Festival, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and 7th, 2012, from 10am-5pm in Stockbridge, MA.  The event is not just your average fall celebration – the festival features fun events and activities for all ages and showcases and promotes local, Berkshire foods, goods, and products of all types.

There will be a farmers’ market filled with local seasonal fare (squash, root veggies, and hardy greens galore!), a fall plant sale featuring a full rainbow of mums, live music throughout the day featuring jazz and folk music, displays of unique and beautiful art and items from local artists and artisans, a wide array of kids’ activities (everything from a corn maze to face painting, a farm-animal petting zoo to an obstacle course!), and a fantastic silent auction and tag sale featuring clothes, books, jewelry, and more.

The festival is worth a visit simply for the seasonal foods and plants offered – and the extra events are enough to keep families occupied for an entire afternoon!
