  1. Burgundy Brook Cafe in Palmer! They share a farm with Blue Star Equiculture, a draft horse rescue and sanctuary, and grow their own organic fruits and vegetables using horse power. The food is always delicious and filling and it’s fun to visit with the horses!

  2. Burrito Rojo in Turners Falls has the only in-house toy/play area for kids that I know of in the Valley. Little Kids can play with a train table, kids kitchen, etc… while big kids and adults can play chess or checkers, foosball or pool. Then the food arrives….yum! Good beer selection for adults, great burritos and quesadillas for kids.

  3. Route 9 Diner in Hadley is a hit with my kid. She can get pancakes for supper (ask nicely and they will make the silver dollar ones if they aren’t too busy) plus the kids get a free toy afterward. Tuesday nights kids eat free.

My experience with Deja Brew in Wendell was slow service and not very kid-friendly, but that was a long time ago. Hopefully things have changed.

  4. Thai garden in Northampton. Took my kids there with a friend the other week and they knew what the friend usually orders! Always friendly and even play with our 3 month old while we eat. It’s like built in babysitting.

  5. Amherst Brewing has always been surprisingly kid friendly for us. We order the big pretzels to come to the table right away and it helps keep the kids busy while waiting. They’ve been able to seat us always away from whatever bar activity is happening. I’m not sure what will happen with the new location but in the past they’ve been one of the few places we can easily take our two special needs kids.

The kids also love the Lhasa Cafe in Northampton along with many of the others already mentioned.
