AUDITIONS: Two hour auditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) musical production of Alice in Wonderland on Monday, March 7th at the Amherst High School Cafeteria, arriving at 3:45pm. Up to sixty roles are available and children ages 5-18 are encouraged to audition. No advanced prep necessary. The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals from 4-8:30pm, 3/7-3/12. Actors will not need to be present at every rehearsal . The production will be presented to the public on March 12th at 1:30pm & 4pm at the Amherst High School Auditorium. FLAG DESIGN CONTEST: Do you have an older student who enjoys graphic design? All are invited to take part in the City of Pittsfield’s Flag Contest, a great project for students and homeschoolers to participate in. Sponsored by Pittsfield Mayor James Ruberto and State Senator Ben Downing, residents are invited to submit their design for an official City of Pittsfield flag. Click here for an application. LITTLE RED SCHOOLHOUSE: Storrowton Village Museum’s Little Red Schoolhouse, an educational program open to grade 1-5 school classes, teachers and chaperones, takes place Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30am- 1:30pm. Participants dress in period costumes provided by Storrowton and are given a brief orientation on the roles each played in the 19th century. A “Schoolmaster” or “Schoolmistress” will lead the students through a variety of challenging and fun activities of a child’s school day early in the 19th century – quill pen writing, spelling bees, math drills and more. THE KITCHEN GARDENER: A free clinic at the Worthington Library on Saturday, February 26th at 4pm will explore low cost strategies for season extension, increasing yield, increasing plant vigor, mitigating pests, disease and predation, reducing water usage, the practical possibilities of a four season harvest in our climate, on site fertility programs and more. You can increase yields, flavor and nutrition without spending a lot of money. Bring your ideas and experiences to share and bring an open mind. This program is part of the Worthington Library’s Omnivore’s Dilemma Program and is brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER WORKSHOP: Is your family preparing to buy your first home? Taking a free First Time Homebuyer workshop will introduce you to the “team members” you will assemble during your home purchase. Participants will learn how to select a team of professionals to help with the purchase of a home, which mortgage products are available to first time homebuyers, how to prioritize housing wants/needs, what happens in a home inspection, how to make an offer on a house, what happens at the purchase and sale signing and the closing, and more. ATTENTION SINGERS: Minerva Voices, a non-profit group for everyone from youths to adults, is accepting new singers to perform in a Best of Broadway Anthology with the theme of Family Relations. Directed by Jill Wheat and accompanied by Laurie Brenner, this performance opportunity includes unison, harmony and solo singing for singers of all experience levels. The group rehearses Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm at the Minerva Arts Center (1288 Massachusetts Ave.) North Adams for 13 weeks and will culminate in a performance at the MAC on Saturday, April 9th at 7pm.
