NEW BABY/TODDLER GROUP IN HILLTOWNS: Free 10-week series for parents and their young children at the Gateway Family Center (9 Russel Rd.) in Huntington, MA on Friday mornings from 10-Noon, beginning January 21st through April 1st. Parents of infants under one year will meet together for five weeks to learn infant massage, baby sign language and to meet other hilltown families with babies. Parents of toddlers and preschool age children will meet for parent /child “playshops” that will include cooking projects, art activities, and games. In the final five weeks of the series, both groups will meet together for scheduled topics such as Music with Your Child, Stress Reduction, and Chat with a Pediatrician. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Eastern States Exposition’s Storrowton Village Museum in West Springfield, MA is seeking volunteers interested in discovering the rich heritage of New England and sharing that knowledge during school programs held throughout the year. Dressed in Early American-inspired apparel , volunteers will guide and help children learn what life was like for youngsters in the 19th century. Volunteers will gain a wealth of knowledge about crafts, food and daily life of the era and will dress in a provided period costume to authenticate the experience.
