Speak Up Now to Save the Western Mass Regional Library System!

Hi families,

I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of the pending budget cuts for WMRLS, the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System.  Please take a moment to read what  Rochelle Wildfong (Children’s Librarian at the Meekins Library in Williamsburg), Lisa Wenner (Library Director of the Meekins Library in Williamsburg) and Liz Castro of Ashfield have shared about the proposed funding cuts (links below) … and TAKE ACTION.

Below are links to review with resources.  Please let others who value our local libraries know about the proposed dismantle of WMRLS.  And take a moment to let your reps know how you feel.  Lisa will be traveling to Boston on Thursday.  Please check in with her on how you can help.  Stop by the library this week!

    1. I just wanted to let everyone know that the Mass Board of Library Commissioners Meeting on Thursday at 10am has been moved to Chicopee Public Library (instead of Mattapan). The public is WELCOME.

This is a great opportunity for librarians and local residents to help the MBLC understand why it’s important to keep WMRLS in Western Mass. Please come!
