Farm Film Feast: Five days of film, food, and discussion

Eating locally continues to be a growing and necessary movement in the United States and an issue many families in Western Mass take to heart. Who produces our food, how it reaches us, and how it affects the health of our families, our environment, and our local and global communities are questions that are more important than ever before! –  A wonderful opportunity to learn more about the issues that are inspiring and supporting a local food movement is coming to Western Massachusetts. Storey Publishing in conjunction with Images Cinema, Williams College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and Mezze Restaurant will be presenting:

Farm Film Feast: Five Days of Film, Food, and Discussion in Williamstown, MA
from March 10th-14th, 2010
More than a dozen films about food and related events will fill the schedule.

Themes for the long weekend include:

  • Wednesday, March 10th King Corn Rules!
  • Thursday, March 11th Berkshire Stories
  • Friday, March 12th A Fresh! Overview
  • Saturday, March 13th Eating Locally and Globally
  • Sunday, March 14th Celebrating and Closing

Films being featured, along with date & time being screened, include:

All films will be shown at Images for $5, unless otherwise indicated. Click here to see/print out a screening schedule. An all-movie pass is available for $35. A portion of the proceeds will go to support the REACH Community Garden Project in North Adams, MA.

Speakers include Aaron Woolf, director of King Corn and Big River; celebrated documentary photographer Jason Houston; filmmaker Severine von Tscharner Flemming; and a panel discussion on farming in the future.
