FEATURED EVENT
There are two Saturday fundraisers I’m biased to encourage folks to attend because my daughter is an alumni for both. In the morning the Ashfield Community Preschool is having their annual pancake breakfast starting at 9am. And in the evening the Cummington Family Center is having their annual silent auction fundraiser starting at 5:30pm. Good food with local maple syrup in the morning, and local services and artisian wears up for auction in the evening. Two great ways to support local business and local family resources.
Mark your calendars for two great upcoming concerts next Saturday:
- 10am-4pm – The River’s Family Music Meltdown and Book Bash in Northampton [Free]
- 7pm – Pioneer Valley Symphony will host a special family concert, feature 2009 Grammy storyteller, Bill

As a preview to next week’s concert ,this week’s episode of the Hilltown Family Variety Show will feature a 1954 recording of the symphonic fairy-tale. Peter and the Wolf, performed by The Boston Pops Orchestra, conducted by Arthur Fiedler and narrated by Richard Hale. Special thanks to local listeners Peter and Kathy Elsea for lending us this LP from their personal collection.

Every Saturday VFR offers four hours of commercial-free, quality family program from 6-10am, including Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child from 7am-9am. It’s better than Saturday morning cartoons!
