Ice storm Creates State of Emergency in Hilltowns

A pre-winter ice storm with high winds downed trees and power lines throughout Western and central Massachusetts overnight, and Gov. Deval L. Patrick declared a state of emergency Friday morning.

More than 100,000 customers were without power statewide.
