Saturday – 11/29
- 7am-9am – Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child on The River and 103.3FM WXOJ.
- 9am-10am – Hilltown Family Variety Show on 103.3FM WXOJ.
- 9am-5pm – Have the kids give a gift to the Forbes Library Annual Giving Tree in Northampton.
- 10am – Santa arrives at Yankee Candle in Deerfield, MA. Live holiday music, sleigh rides. Free.
- 10am – Santa Parade marches through downtown Florence. Free.
- 11am – Following Santa’s march down Main Street in Florence, visit with local children’s book author/illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka at Cup and Top Cafe in Florence, MA. Free.
- 11-4pm – At the Historic Deerfield Museum the Members of the Society of the 17th Century offer a taste of English life as it was for the first Thanksgiving, including cooking on an open hearth.
- 12:30 – 2:20pm – The Collins/Moylan Memorial Skating Rink in Greenfield will have a public skate. Skate rentals available. 413.772.6891
- 1-5pm – At the Historic Deerfield Museum in Deerfield, families can participate in a “Handmade Gifts” workshop.
- 2pm –The Neverending Story will be showing at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, MA.
- 2pm & 3pm – Picture Book Theatre presents Rooster’s Off to See the World and The Very Lonely Firefly at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst.
- 4 – 6:50pm – There will be a public ice skate at the Mullins Center Ice Rink at UMass in Amherst. Skate rentals available. 413.545.399.
- 6pm – Thanksgiving Gratitude Revival at The Art Bridge in Shelburne.
- Holiday light display at Look Park in Florence, MA (through 01/01/09).
Sunday – 11/30
- Registration deadline for the Old Sturbridge Village Crafts at Close Range Day.
- Festival of the Trees is happening until 01/01 at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA.
- Live holiday music, sleigh rides and more at Yankee Candle in Deerfield, MA. Free.
- 1pm & 3pm – The Paper Bag Players perform at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst.
- 3 – 4:50pm – There will be a public ice skate at the Mullins Center Ice Rink at UMass in Amherst. Skate rentals available. 413.545.3990
- 4-6pm – There will be a family contra dance at the Montague Grange in Montague, MA.
