KIDS ROCKIN’ CONCERT THIS SATURDAY @ 1:30PM IN NORTHAMPTON!

Saturday, March 8th @ 1:30pm in Northampton. Princess Katie & Racer Steve, will make a triumphant return to Northampton with a rock concert for families at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 in Lyman Hall at First Churches of Northampton, 129 Main Street, Northampton, MA. Doors open at 1pm and tickets are only $5! Costumes are optional (and fun)!

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

9:30am-3pm -HISTORIC MUSIC – (Northampton) The Sacred Harp is the backbone of one of this country’s oldest, most vital, and soul-stirring musical traditions. Potluck dinner at 12:30 p.m. both days. Two- to three-hundred people will be singing in four-part harmony from The Sacred Harp, a collection of songs in “shapenote” notation that has been in print continuously since 1844. 10am-11:30am – FATHER’S GROUP – (Amherst) Please come to talk about fathers’ issues, meet other dads and have coffee with us at this drop-in fathers’ group. 10:15am-12:15pm – POSTPARTUM STRESS SUPPORT GROUP – (Northampton) Every Tuesday there is a drop-in support group at 56 Vernon Street. Free child care and snacks. A welcoming group for all mothers to share the adjustment to motherhood, especially those experiencing postpartum stress, anxiety or depression. 9pm – ASTONOMY – (TV) The History Channel will be airing The Universe: Colonizing Space.
The Universe series offers an epic exploration of the universe and its mysteries, providing an in-depth analysis from the planets to the stars to the edge of the known. This one-hour episode entitled Colonizing Space focuses on one of the most important developments in the history of space exploration:
colonization. This episode examines the possibility of establishing a human colony on Mars, including how humans might grow food, recycle wastewater and introduce greenhouse gases to revive the red planet and make it more habitable for humans and is an excellent opportunity for students to learn

7pm – RENEWABLE ENERGY – (TV) History Channel will air Modern Marvels: Renewable Energy.
As more and more people become concerned about the world’s dependency on a limited supply of petroleum, determining viable new sources of energy has become increasingly important. This one hour episode in the Modern Marvels series introduces viewers to the rapidly evolving technologies that harness renewable energy, examing ways air, water, earth, and fire can be transformed into clean, plausible sources of heat, electricity, and even automobile fuel. This is an excellent documentary for students to explore the ways scientific research can help shape the future, and the methods scientists use to discover solutions to our contemporary needs. 7pm-8:30pm – NATURE EXPLORATIONS – (Easthampton) Explore Vernal Pools at the Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary.
