What to do on Columbus Day Weekend in Western Mass?

(c) Hilltown Families - Mad ScienceIt’s Columbus Day weekend, which means my daughter has Monday AND TUESDAY off from school next week. While there’s plenty to do this weekend and on Monday … what to do on Tuesday? I did run into Lui Collins at the Meekins Library in Worthington who told me about a Kids’ Jam she’s offering for older kids, starting this Tuesday that runs for ten weeks! Something to do!

One thing my daughter’s looking forward to are science classes held on Mondays in Northampton. Mad Science is offering an eight week after-school science enrichment program for kids her age. The participants get a hands-on learning experience on the science of art, energy, zoology, gravity, biology, motion and robots. There was an open house a couple of weeks ago and she was sold! They will also be offering drop-in classes every other Friday evening.

FEEDBACK WELCOMED

Your comments and feedback are warmly welcomed. If you like what you see here on HF and find our resources useful, don’t keep it to yourself. Let us know! And if you have a suggestion or constructive advice, we want to hear from you too.

And while we are here to primarily serve our local community, families from communities outside our area are taking advantage of and being inspired by Hilltown Families too:

“Hilltown Families is really smart & comprehensive. Inclusive & inspiring. I see it as a big-scale variety show where everyone can come and take what they need! Excellent job. There seems to be a need for something similar in this area. Something that pulls all of the resources for families and puts it in one package so that the information is there; so that families always feel empowered.”
