River Valley Market Orientation FlyerCome this March the doors are planned to open at the River Valley Market Co-Op (RVM) in Northampton, a consumer-owned cooperative whose key goal is “a thriving sustainable local food system …”! They broken ground last March and are working on their “green” building. Doors are scheduled to open in March 2008!

Are you a member-owner? Want to become a member-owner? There will be an orientation for new and potential co-op member-owners on Wednesday, 10/10/07 at 7pm in Florence at the Civic Center. Bring your family and come check it out. Check here for updates.

WHAT IS RVM?

RVM is a grass-roots organization of families from Western Mass that have united to develop a natural foods grocery store that not only specializes in local and organic foods, but also provides a just marketplace that supports sustainability. Click here for answers to some FAQ’s.

Everyone is welcome to shop at the co-op and everyone is invited to became a member-owner too! If you are already a member, come by and learn about the co-op and what your membership will mean to you and to the co-op.

    River Valley Market’s Member-Drive Pancake Breakfast is coming up this Saturday, October 13th

    The Member-Drive Pancake Breakfast will be on Saturday, October 13th from 9AM-Noon at the St. John Cantius Church Parish Center, 10 Hawley Street in Northampton. Everyone is welcome. The menu includes organic buttermilk pancakes with local maple syrup, breakfast sausage (gluten-free and vegan pancake & sausage options also available), fresh squeezed organic orange juice and local apple cider, and good strong coffee (fair trade, organic, and locally roasted). The breakfast festivities include live music and great door prizes.

    Pancake Breakfast Tickets are $7.50 for adults/$5 for children. Use your member-owner $1-off coupon that recently was mailed in the form of a postcard. Please come for a great breakfast and help us welcome and invite new people to come to the breakfast to join in the fun of becoming a River Valley Market founding member-owner. New members signing up at the breakfast get one free ticket.

    Advance tickets are available now at Collective Copies in Florence, Broadside Books in Northampton, and Food for Thought Books in Amherst.

    Other Co-op Happenings:

    There is a Membership Information Meeting Tonight for anyone interested in more information about co-op membership. Wednesday, October 10th at 7 PM at the Florence Civic Center.

    We’re launching a yard-sign promotion! 100 River Valley Market yard signs posted in area yards make a big splash and it’s an easy way to spread the word. Simply call Trevor at (413) 247-3322 to get details and request a yard sign.

    Help spread co-op visibility the by wearing a River Valley Market T-shirt! Organic cotton T-shirts are available for $15 each from Rebecca. T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the pancake breakfast.
