Red Bucket Sugar Shack (Worthington, MA)

The sap is flowing and the sugar shacks are all fired up. Get your maple experience while the sap lasts. There will be a Hilltown Families Social at Red Bucket Sugar Shack in Worthington, MA, on Sunday. And at Arcadia Mass Audubon in Easthampton there is a maple education class scheduled for this Saturday.

Hilltown mother’s will be rockin’ the hills all week long. Katryna & Nerissa Nields of Conway will be performing on Friday, Sarah Stockwell of Cummington on Saturday and Marla BB of West Chesterfield on Tuesday. Read on to find out places and time…

Friday – 03/09/07

5pm – COMMUNITY DINNER – Elmer’s in Ashfield, MA, invites community members to come together to share dinner and conversation every Friday evening. Menu TBA. 628-4003 [Families] ($)

6pm – BULB SHOW – In Northampton, MA, the Spring Bulb Show will be open for a special evening viewing from 6-8pm at the Smith Botanical Garden. The show runs through 03/18/07. Conservatory is open daily until 4pm. 585.2740 [Families] (Free)

7pm – MUSIC – Also in Northampton there will be a concert for climate rescue, Music of This Sphere, at the Helen Hills Hills Chapel. 8am – MUSIC – While traveling around town, tune-in to WXOJ 103.3 FM in Florence, MA, from 8-10am to hear fabulous family friendly music on Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child. If you can’t tune-in at home, listen on-line at www.sparetherock.com. [All ages] (Free)

10am – OUTDOOR EDUCATION – Maple Trees & Maple Syrup. At Arcadia from 10am-noon in Easthampton, MA, learn about maple sugaring, from sap to syrup. Learn how to identify a sugar maple, take a syrup taste test, maple games, stories and more. 584-3009 [Ages 4-10] ($)

10am – FAMILY BOOK CLUB – Parents and children ages 9-12 are invited to the Meekins Library in Williamsburg for a free family book club. 2:30pm – CHILDREN’S ART CLASS – Printmaking Magic! A two hour printmaking class for school aged children at the Children’s Art Museum in Shelburne Falls, MA. Come learn the secrets of drawing backwards, mirror images, and making multiple copies of the same picture! 8:15pm – MUSIC – Marla BB, a hilltown mom from West Chesterfield and blues singer, will be performing at the Old Creamery in Cummington, MA, offering an eveing of blues, jazz and soulful sounds.
